About the Project.
MonuMonta is a brand of 3D puzzles of historic monuments, joining the physical and the digital through Augmented Reality. The project runs from brand conception to tangible products and their digital support.
Beyond our line of historic monuments, we develop custom models and exclusive 3D puzzles for companies and municipalities, offering an original way to promote heritage and institutional identity.

The Process.
Photogrammetry
Hundreds of photographs from every angle of the monument. Processed in specialised software to create 3D models with real textures.
3D Modelling
Model cleanup, real-world measurements and scale adaptation. Symmetry adjustments and preparation of the pieces for production.
Prototyping
Progressive iterations in different materials, from card to laser-cut MDF, until the final quality is reached.
Final Product
A 3D puzzle in MDF with a custom box, printed textures and premium finish. Every monument is unique.
First Product.
The first MonuMonta puzzle is Castelo Branco Town Hall, an iconic building in the region, recreated to scale through photogrammetry and produced in laser-cut MDF. The prototype was developed with the CEI FabLab and validated through usability testing with users of different ages.
Alongside it, the MonuMonta app prototype was built in Figma: an online shop with filters by region and complexity, AR viewing of the assembled puzzle and switching between the real monument and the puzzle.
Results
Tested with 10 participants (aged 6-24). App: 4.8/5 for presentation and curiosity. Puzzle: 4.5+/5 for satisfaction and purchase intent.
Next Steps
Expansion to other monuments in the region and partnerships with municipalities to create exclusive collections.
